Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream for topping

Equipment

  • 9x13 Baking Pan
  • Electric mixer

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture, alternating with the whole milk. Mix until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. While the cake is baking, whisk together the evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and whole milk in a bowl.
  7. Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes. Then, poke holes all over the cake with a fork.
  8. Pour the milk mixture over the cake, allowing it to soak in. Let the cake absorb the milk for at least 30 minutes.
  9. Whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form and spread it over the top of the cake.
