Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 tbsp Black food coloring
  • 1 tbsp Orange food coloring
  • 1 cup Whipped cream
  • 1/4 cup Chocolate sprinkles

Equipment

  • Cake Pan
  • Piping Bags
  • Cake Turntable

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and sugar. In another bowl, beat together the butter and eggs until creamy.
  3. Mix the wet ingredients (butter, eggs) with the dry ingredients (flour, sugar) gradually. Add vanilla extract and milk. Mix until smooth.
  4. Divide the batter into two portions. Add black food coloring to one batch and orange food coloring to the other. Stir well.
  5. Pour the black batter into the cake pan and then layer the orange batter on top, creating a marble effect. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Once the cake is baked and cooled, frost with whipped cream and decorate with chocolate sprinkles for a spooky look.
