Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 1/2 cups Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter Softened
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Whole Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 cup Black Food Coloring
  • 1/4 cup Orange Food Coloring

Equipment

  • Cake Pan
  • Piping Bags

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans. To create a spooky effect, color one batter with black food coloring and the other with orange food coloring, swirling them together in the pan.
  6. Bake the cakes for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cakes to cool completely in the pans before transferring them to a wire rack.
  8. Once the cakes are cooled, frost them with your favorite frosting. Use black frosting to decorate the cake, and add spooky accents such as candy eyeballs, Halloween-themed sprinkles, and spider webs for a fun, creepy touch.
