Ingredients
Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until smooth and well-combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared pans and smooth the tops with a spatula.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, frost the cakes with whipped cream. Use black decorating gel to draw spooky ghost eyes on the top of the cake to complete the spooky ghost design.
