Topping
  • 4 tbsp butter melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 7 pineapple rings drained
  • 7 maraschino cherries
Cake Batter
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour melted butter into a round cake pan and sprinkle brown sugar evenly over it.
  2. Arrange pineapple rings on top of the sugar mixture and place a cherry in the center of each.
  3. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Add butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla. Mix until a smooth batter forms.
  5. Pour the batter over the pineapple layer and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 35–40 minutes or until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool for 5 minutes, then flip the cake carefully onto a serving plate.

Notes
