Ingredients
  

  • Dark Chocolate
  • 1 cup Butter softened
  • 1 1/2 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Espresso or Strong Coffee
  • Black Buttercream
  • Edible Lace
  • Red Velvet Roses

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your cake pans.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate and let it cool. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Beat the butter and eggs in a mixer until fluffy, then add the melted chocolate and coffee.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into prepared pans and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let the cakes cool completely. Once cooled, layer the cakes, frosting with black buttercream between layers.
  7. Decorate the cake with edible lace and red velvet roses for a gothic touch.
