- Peel, core, and chop the pears into small pieces. Place them in a large pot.
- Add water, cinnamon, cloves, and lemon juice to the pears. Stir everything together and bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Reduce the heat and simmer for about 1.5 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until the pears are soft and the mixture thickens.
- Use an immersion blender or regular blender to puree the pear mixture until smooth and creamy.
- Return the pear butter to the stove and simmer for another 30 minutes to achieve the desired thickness.
- Once thickened, pour the pear butter into sterilized jars and seal them. Store in the refrigerator or process in a water bath for long-term storage.
