- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, mixing just until combined.
- Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full with batter. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow cupcakes to cool completely on a wire rack before frosting.
- For frosting, beat together butter and powdered sugar. Add milk as needed to reach desired consistency. Divide the frosting into separate bowls and add food coloring to each for a colorful Easter theme.
- Frost the cooled cupcakes with the colored frosting, using a piping bag or spatula. Decorate with sprinkles or other festive toppings.
