Ingredients
Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and pumpkin puree.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- While the cake cools, prepare the frosting. Beat together the softened cream cheese, softened butter, and powdered sugar until smooth and fluffy. Add the vanilla extract and heavy cream, and continue to beat until the frosting is light and spreadable.
- Once the cake has cooled, spread the frosting evenly over the top. Slice, serve, and enjoy your moist, flavorful pumpkin spice cake!
