Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh crab meat drained and picked through
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup green onions finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/4 cup butter melted

Equipment

  • Frying Pan

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the crab meat, bread crumbs, egg, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, green onions, paprika, and Old Bay seasoning.
  2. Mix gently until well combined, being careful not to break up the crab meat too much.
  3. Form the mixture into small cakes, about 2-3 inches in diameter.
  4. In a frying pan, melt butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the crab cakes and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Remove from the pan and drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
