Ingredients

Cake Base
  • 2 cups crumbled cake any flavor — chocolate, vanilla, or funfetti
  • 1/2 cup frosting vanilla, buttercream, or cream cheese
Coating & Decoration
  • 1 1/2 cups melting chocolate or candy melts white, dark, or colored
  • sprinkles or crushed cookies for decoration
  • cake pop sticks for shaping and serving

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Cake Pop Sticks
  • Microwave

Method

  1. Crumble the baked cake into a large bowl until no large pieces remain.
  2. Add frosting gradually, mixing with your hands until the mixture becomes dough-like and holds its shape.
  3. Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch wide, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Insert a cake pop stick into each ball and refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm them up.
  5. Melt the chocolate or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  6. Dip each cake ball into the melted chocolate, rotating gently to coat evenly. Let the excess drip off.
  7. Before the coating sets, decorate with sprinkles or cookie crumbs. Place the pops upright in a foam block or stand until dry.
