Ingredients

For the Cake
  • 2 cups vanilla or chocolate cake crumbs finely crumbled
  • 1/2 cup frosting any flavor you like
For Coating and Decoration
  • 12 oz candy melts or chocolate melted
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil to thin chocolate if needed
  • sprinkles assorted for decoration

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowls
  • Baking Tray
  • Lollipop sticks
  • Microwave-safe Bowl

Method

  1. Bake your favorite cake recipe or use leftover cake. Let it cool completely, then crumble it into fine pieces.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the cake crumbs with frosting until the mixture holds together when pressed.
  3. Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  4. Insert a lollipop stick halfway into each ball, then chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to firm up.
  5. Melt candy melts or chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each.
  6. Dip each chilled cake pop into the melted chocolate, gently tapping off the excess.
  7. Before the coating sets, decorate with colorful sprinkles or drizzle with contrasting chocolate.
  8. Stick the cake pops upright in a styrofoam block to dry completely. Once set, they’re ready to serve or gift!
