Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch cake pan.
- In a large bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- In another bowl, whisk the egg yolks, melted butter, sugar, and vanilla until well combined.
- Gently fold the flour and baking powder into the egg yolk mixture.
- Carefully fold in the beaten egg whites, taking care not to deflate the mixture.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
