  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 5 eggs separated
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Milk Mixture
  • 1 can evaporated milk (12 oz)
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
Topping
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 3 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • fresh berries for garnish (optional)

Equipment

  • Electric mixer
  • 9x13 inch baking pan
  • Mixing Bowls

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt together. Set aside.
  3. Beat egg yolks with 3/4 cup sugar until pale and thick. Stir in milk and vanilla.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form, then add remaining sugar. Fold gently into the yolk mixture.

  7. Whisk together evaporated milk, condensed milk, and heavy cream. Pour evenly over the cake. Chill for at least 45 minutes or overnight.
  8. Whip cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form. Spread over the cake and top with fresh berries if desired.
