- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

- In a separate bowl, beat together the butter, applesauce, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth and combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until fully incorporated.
- Fold in the chopped apples until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
