This classic meatloaf recipe is moist, flavorful, and topped with a sweet and tangy glaze. Perfect for weeknight dinners or family gatherings.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground pork (optional)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- 1/4 cup ketchup or barbecue sauce for glaze
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar (for glaze, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine breadcrumbs and milk. Let it soak for a few minutes.
- Add ground beef, ground pork (if using), chopped onion, garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, thyme, and paprika. Mix until just combined; avoid overmixing to keep meatloaf tender.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in the prepared loaf pan.
- In a small bowl, mix ketchup (or barbecue sauce) with brown sugar, if using. Spread evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy!
Tips
- For extra flavor, add finely chopped bell peppers or carrots into the meat mixture.
- Use a mix of ground beef and pork for a juicier meatloaf.
- Leftovers make great sandwiches the next day.
- Optional: Brush more glaze halfway through baking for a thicker, caramelized topping.
